I'm a Senior Lecturer at the London School of Film, Media and Design at the University of West London, UK.
I have several years of Brand Design and Identity/Communication Consultancy experience in a range of industries. My research and teaching interests lie within Participatory Design, Brand Management and Corporate Identity within New Media and the Social Web.
In 2006 I co-founded Incentor, Publicações de Inovação, Lda, and APGICO, the Portuguese Association for Organizational Innovation and Creativity Management. I was creative director and content manager of inovar·te, a Portuguese publication regarding innovation issues. In 2003 I co-founded PontoSagres, a Certified and Authorized Apple® Reseller and Assistance Center, in Aveiro. I began my professional experience in 1997 as communication and interface designer.
I hold a PhD in Information and Communication in Digital Platforms, a Masters in Innovation and Knowledge Management and a degree in Communication Design. My PhD thesis (Co-design of brand artifacts) allowed me to win the 1st Idea Puzzle Award (2012) and the Aveiro Empreendedor Contest (2013). I’m a certified and active coacher/trainer since 2003, in domains such as design, advertising, creativity, branding, illustration and publishing technologies.
Lately, I discovered the power of participation and its effects in cognitive/affective human skills. For the future, I want to put all these subjects together.
